The King’s Academy and Viewley Hill Academy Carol Service
Thursday 13 December: 6.00 – 7.30pm

You are warmly invited to this year’s joint Carol Service. This is a regular feature of The King’s Academy calendar however for the first time we are joining together with the Viewley Hill Academy Choir. The Service will combine Carol Singing with a number of other musical items including the Joint Choir.  In addition, the Service will include readings and drama pieces as well as some seasonal thoughts brought to us by Mr Matthew Roberts, Senior Minister at Trinity Church in York. If you would like to attend, please contact the events team at events@thekingsacademy.org.uk to reserve a seat. There is no charge for admission but donations will be gratefully received in support of Academy charities. At the end of the Carol service refreshments will be available in the Main Hall for £1 per person with donations going to our Academy charities. We look forward to seeing you at what we are sure will be a very enjoyable evening.

Welcome to The King’s Academy

The King’s opened as an 11-19 school of 1,200 students in September 2003. During the last twelve years, we have enjoyed great achievements and success as a result of an incredible amount of hard work and commitment from our students and staff, along with much valued support from parents and carers at home.

Perhaps the Academy’s greatest pleasure, however, is to see the inclusive environment in which its students operate, with some 100 students having Statements of Special Educational Need. Inspired by our Christian ethos, which values everyone as equal in the sight of God, we seek to provide a supportive environment where every individual is given the opportunity to discover their particular gifts and talents so that they can excel and achieve their unique potential.

Valuing excellence of character as well as academic achievements, qualities of diligence, determination, compassion and humility are celebrated so that our young people are equipped to both achieve to the very best of their abilities, and to become inspiring leaders and valuable citizens in society.

Together with our committed and excellent staff team, I am delighted to welcome you to this website introduction of what The King’s is all about.
