Important Notice:

We have been informed by Middlesbrough Local Authority that, from 1 January 2020, Croft Coaches will be unable to transport fee-paying passengers. Students who are eligible for home to school transport and have a bus pass are not affected by this change.

The King’s Academy will continue to work with the Local Authority to find a solution to this issue but at present we have been unable to propose a solution that the Local Authority will accept. In the first instance, therefore, we urge all parents not currently in receipt of a bus pass to check their eligibility for a free pass at the Middlesbrough Local Authority website below:

Please note that the Academy cannot issue bus passes to eligible students and this is the responsibility of the Local Authority.

Further information will be provided in due course.

Welcome to The King’s Academy

The King’s opened as an 11-19 school of 1,200 students in September 2003. Since our opening, we have enjoyed great achievements and success as a result of an incredible amount of hard work and commitment from our students and staff, along with much valued support from parents and carers at home.

Perhaps the Academy’s greatest pleasure, however, is to see the inclusive environment in which its students operate, with some 100 students having Statements of Special Educational Need. Inspired by our Christian ethos, which values everyone as equal in the sight of God, we seek to provide a supportive environment where every individual is given the opportunity to discover their particular gifts and talents so that they can excel and achieve their unique potential.

Valuing excellence of character as well as academic achievements, qualities of diligence, determination, compassion and humility are celebrated so that our young people are equipped to both achieve to the very best of their abilities, and to become inspiring leaders and valuable citizens in society.

Together with our committed and excellent staff team, I am delighted to welcome you to this website introduction of what The King’s is all about.
