Mainstream students with SEND

All students with SEND are placed on our SEND register. All staff have an understanding of the needs of the children they teach and support.  Teachers use a range of teaching strategies and differentiate resources to meet needs.

Quality First Teaching for mainstream students with SEND is supplemented through the use of interventions to improve literacy, numeracy, social skills and handwriting and revision skills. Opportunities for support with homework and tutorials are provided.

Mainstream students with specific learning difficulties have access to technology such as a laptop, a reading pen or ipad to access learning within the classroom.

Some mainstream students with higher needs access shared in-class support to read, scribe, help with communication skills or offer practical assistance.
