The King’s Academy is best achieving school for students going to a top university

Figures released yesterday by the Department for Education confirm that The King’s Academy is the best achieving school in Middlesbrough for students going on to a top ‘Russell Group’ university.

The Russell Group is a collection of 24 universities – including Oxford and Cambridge – with a shared focus on research and a reputation for academic achievement. Places are usually more competitive and often come with high entry grades.

17% of school leavers from The King’s Academy went on to a Russell Group university over the past three years, the highest figure for all Middlesbrough schools. This includes several students who went to Oxford or Cambridge.

Our Careers programme in The King’s Academy Sixth Form gives structured support and guidance for university and apprenticeship applications.

Applications for our Sixth Form are currently open (click here) and our Sixth Form Taster Day will take place on Wednesday 19th June.
